This will be a long adventure as we travel to Tyler (about 90 mins outside of Dallas) and visit the "exotic collection of real-live tigers, lions, leopards and mountain lions."

Tiger Creek is a not a zoo. It is a refuge/preserve with "a very specific purpose: "To provide rescue and rehabilitation of big cats that have been abused, neglected or displaced."

Here is a bit more about our adventure from the "Tiger Creek Refuge" website: 

"Housed behind two layers of fence, for their safety as well as yours, our cats are easily seen and enjoyed. When they’re feeling especially playful, they can put on a show more entertaining than anything you’ll find on television!

We offer a guided walking tour to all guests Wednesday through Sunday (Monday and Tuesday are self-guided ONLY during the off season: see details below). The tour distance is approx. a half mile walk and takes about 30-45 minutes. After the tour you are welcome to walk around the facility on your own and continue to enjoy the cats."

Cost: $40 *Note: Since this adventure is far outside our normal area, we will meet at a central location and carpool. **Event time includes travel time.
